The source releases are official. The single 2004=100 series is a TheDataStory construction because CPI Combined does not exist as one unchanged official series back to 2004.

We therefore label the CPI-IW segment as a historical extension, disclose the June 2013 splice, retain source-series labels in every CSV row and keep the illustrated trolley separate from item-price claims.
