    June observations are linked to the 2001=100 base and normalised to June 2004=100.

    2013–2025CPI Combined, 2012 base

    The national rural + urban series is joined at the June 2013 overlap.

    2025–2026CPI Combined, 2024 base

    MoSPI's official 0.5267 general-index linking factor and the 2025 overlap preserve the latest ratio.

    India has no single unchanged CPI Combined basket covering the entire 2004–2026 period.

    CPI-IW represents industrial-worker households and is used only to extend the history before CPI Combined begins.

    The 2013 splice is an analytical construction; it is not an official back series for the full period.

    June 2026 is provisional and may be revised by MoSPI.

    A national index is an average. A household's own inflation depends on what it buys and where it lives.

    The market-basket objects are visual categories, not claims about literal item quantities or unchanged product quality.
